McCoy and Suh among Award Recipients at The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards        

Awards Presented during Live Show on ESPN from Disney’s BoardWalk

Texas quarterback Colt McCoy and Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh each earned two awards at The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Thursday night on ESPN, live from the Atlantic Dance Hall at Disney’s BoardWalk at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

McCoy, a senior from Tuscola, Texas, earned the Davey O’Brien Award for best quarterback and Maxwell Award for best all-around player. Suh, a senior from Portland, Ore., won the Chuck Bednarik Award for best defensive player and Outland Trophy for best interior lineman. 

Other winners included: Golden Tate, Notre Dame, Biletnikoff Award (best receiver); Kai Forbath, UCLA, Lou Groza Award (best kicker); Drew Butler, Georgia, Ray Guy Award (best punter); Eric Berry, Tennessee, Jim Thorpe Award (best defensive back); Toby Gerhart, Stanford, Doak Walker Award (best running back); Mark Herzlich, Boston College, Disney Spirit Award; Brian Kelly, Cincinnati, The Home Depot Coach of the Year Award; and LaVell Edwards, legendary Brigham Young University coach, NCFAA Contributions to College Football Award. 

Two other award winners announced during the show were Maurkice Pouncey, Florida, Rimington Trophy (outstanding center) and Aaron Hernandez, Florida, John Mackey Award (best tight end). The following award winners were also acknowledged: Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska, Rotary Lombardi Award (outstanding lineman) and Bronko Nagurski Trophy (outstanding defensive player); and Kirby Smart, Alabama, Frank Broyles Award (top assistant coach).
